SUNDAY SERVICES
What to Expect
Sunday Worship Services
On Sunday mornings we meet in a school hall. We dress comfortably and most weeks you will be greeted at the door by a couple of church members. Our time together starts with singing praises to the Lord, which are a mix of new and old favourites. The musicians are of all ages with instruments ranging from flutes and violins to guitars and drums. The music is a mix of new songs and old favourites. You might be surprised at the range of nationalities and ages in the fellowship, we are a church family.
In everything we do we try to bring honour and glory to Jesus Christ by keeping his word, the Bible, at the center of our worship. We read God’s word together, praise God for His mercy and sovereign grace. We seek Him in earnest prayer for the needs of this world, our country, and for each other. The preaching of the Bible is led by Pastor André Bay and most weeks other members contribute to the service as well.
Sunday School
Our children (toddler – 12 years) meet before our morning service, at 9.15am, for Sunday School. They sing, have shared catechism instruction, and then break into age-based groups for Bible study.
We don’t believe that children and parents should be separated during our corporate worship on a Sunday; so we encourage children and their parents to join in the service. We do make allowance for the use the Staff Room at the back at times when parents need to take their kids out to calm them down, or attend to something that can’t be attended to quietly in the pews.
It is important that children should observe their parents and other believers as they worship Christ on the Lord’s Day. They need to see the tears, the joy, our closed eyes, our frowns and hear our voices as we sing and us whispering “Amen” as we worship. We want them to observe and participate with us in praying together to God through His Son Jesus Christ, us singing God’s praises as a congregation and also learning how to reverently listen to the Word of God read and preached to us.
Fellowship
After the worship service, we enjoy morning tea together. If you’re new to Shore Baptist Church, this is a great opportunity to get to know the members of the church, and ask any questions you have. Our hope is that you will know the love of Christ, feel valued, at home, and welcomed at Shore Baptist Church.
Lord’s Supper & Church Lunches
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper together monthly, on the first Sunday of the month. And on the last Sunday of the month, our services are often followed by a church shared lunch. We hope you will stay and join us in sharing a meal and fellowship.
Giving
There is an offering box in the church, but we don’t take up an offering during the service. Some members prefer to contribute electronically. Details are available on our Giving page, or in the church.
Sunday Evening Services
Every second and fourth Sunday of the month (March to October), we have our Evening Service at Westminster Christian School starting at 6.00pm.

New Comers
We have ‘Open Homes’ once a month during the term time for those who are new or are ‘newish’ to the church. A church member opens their home for a shared lunch and time of fellowship. Open Homes are an opportunity for us to welcome and get to know you over a shared meal together. Come along if you’re new to the church, we would love to meet you!
Care Groups
Our Care Groups play a very important role in the ongoing priestly ministry in our church, where we can all care for one another in studying God’s word and praying for various needs in the church. Great friendships are built and many a good dinner is served to promote that fellowship we share with one another in Jesus Christ.
Care Groups happen during the week in various homes. Please find our list or Care Groups in our weekly emailed newsletter. If you’re interested in joining a Care Group, please contact one of our Elders.
Sunday School
Our children (toddlers – 13 years) meet before our morning service at 9.15am for Sunday School at Westminster Christian School. They meet together to sing and have shared catechism instruction, and then break into age-based groups for Bible study. There is no Sunday School during school holidays. If you’d like more information, feel free to contact Aaron Falconer.

Mums & Tots
We have a mums & tots group for all mums with newborns-toddlers every Wednesday at 9.30am. We do a small study together, pray together, encourage each other in our walks with God, and in raising our children in the ways of the Lord. Please contact Erica Kendall if you’d like to join us as the location varies weekly.

We also have various Women’s Bible Study groups that meet throughout the week.
Men’s Ministry

Seasoned Saints
Our Seasoned Saints meet a few times a year for the older members of our congregation to connect and share fellowship. If you’d like to join, please contact Owen Griffiths.
Beach Mission
Do you think that God is calling you to mission? Do you have faith in Jesus and want to make Him known? Are you praying for opportunities to share your faith and the truth of the gospel message? Are you willing to be used by God?
To be a part of an OTE Beach Mission you need only be willing to offer yourself to be used by God. OTE is an 8 day camp where we work as a Christian team to evangelize other campers and organize a gospel children’s programme. We work hard, train for evangelism, pray a lot, have team devotions, use our gifts to serve Christ and one another.
If He is calling you, you will have some desire and willingness and maybe even reading this little notice will nudge your heart to respond.
Talk to Andrew and Susan Snowball, Heidi and Will Schmidt, or anyone else who has been to a Beach Mission if you are even a tiny bit interested. Perhaps the Lord is speaking to you? You don’t have to be able, just willing!
